Bangladesh passport is issued first for only five years. You will find the date of its expiry on page three. You need to renew your passport before or on the day of its expiry. You can renew it maximum for a further period of five years. It means, a Bangladesh passport may be used for travel only for five years + five years = ten years from the date of its first issue. After this, you need to obtain a new passport.

Note : In some exceptional cases, a passport is issued with a period of limited validity, for example, for a period of one or one and a half years in case of those who have lost their previous passports , etc.
